PROPERTIES / APPLICATIONS
- HTC PU 3820 is particularly recommended as finishing for wall paints and decorative paints: with this product, low gloss matt finishes can be obtained without using silica matting agent. The film has a softtouch effect.
- In order to increase the soft touch effect, especially in case of application on very absorbent supports, a second coat of decorative paint can be applied.
- The initial milky appearance of the coat will disappear with drying.
- HTC PU 3820 has to be cross-linked with HTC Crosslinker 23 (dosage 4-7%) in order to obtain a film with improved body, chemical resistance and high mechanical performance.
- HTC PU 3820 and the catalyst have to be mixed for about 2-3 minutes with appropriate mechanical equipment (e.g. Helix drill).
- Cross-linked HTC PU 3820 allows to obtain a film with excellent resistance against chemicals, either organic (e.g. coffe, wine, mustard, tomato sauce, acetone, detergents, etc.) or inorganic (e.g. water, ammonia, acids and bases).
N.B. In order to achieve a proper resistance to chemicals the Top Coat should be let to cure after its application, so that a complete crosslink can take place (1 month). In case of application onto slightly porous or glassy surfaces, in order to guarantee the required adhesion, the addition of Crosslinker 23 (between 0.5 and 3%) is recommended. - The support has to be clean, fully cured and free of mold and algae. For very absorbent or brand new supports a pre-treatment with two or more coats of primer HTC PU Primer 1800 is advisable.
- HTC PU 3820 can not be colored: the final color is given by the support.
- For small surfaces the application with brush it’s suggested, performing semicircular movements in order to obtain a homogeneous coating.
It’s always recommended to mix before using.
The tools (trowels, brushes, rollers, blades, etc.) can be cleaned by washing in hot or cold soapy water; solvents are not required.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
- The product should be stored in closed drums at temperature between 5 and 40 °C.
- Keep protected from frost.
- It stored in these conditions the product does not change its properties in the period of 12 months from the date of production.
- However, after a long period of storage, a slight separation of the product may occur, but this doesn’t chance the product efficacy.
- It’s suggested a prior mixing before use to ensure the homogeneity of the system.
